May Book Report - Killing Rommell

This month's edition of the book report is Killing Rommel. This is an excellent book, the intro almost had me convinced that this was a non-fiction book. The book follows a member of the Long Range Desert Patrol and the British SAS in their attempt to kill Field Marshall Erwin Rommel. The last part is fictional but Pressfield does an excellent job of bringing in historic accuracy to make the whole book feel real. I also liked how he didn't broaden out that much and kept us pretty much in the dark while they were out on patrol. All in a good read and will soon be a major motion picture (are there other kinds?). Next up on the reading pile is Stealing Lincoln's Body a non-fiction book about an 1876 plot to steal the embalmed body of Lincoln and hold it for ransom. Some time truth is stranger than fiction.
