P365 D44: Heridia

Here are a few pictures from around Heridia. The first is of a cool cart at the cafe we had lunch at. Tico is the word that Costa Ricans use to describe themselves. The food here is pretty good and the fruit is outstanding.

The second picture shows one of the nicest houses in town. The current president, Oscar Arias, is from here and his family made a lot of money with coffee in the 1800s. The most interesting thing is that most of the smaller house will have iron gates at the front with locks but the big houses have no outside security it is all near the house.

The third picture is of a bridge that washed out. It rains a lot in Costa Rica and when Hurricane Felix hit Nicaragua last month there was torrential rain here. Then there is a picture of me with my umbrella if you come during the rainy season be sure to bring some type of rain gear. Then one of a Catholic statue.
