Genomic Phylostratigraphy

Science Daily has an interesting news blurb (found here) about an upcoming article in the November issue of Trends in Genetics. This actually looks really cool and may help intersect macroevolutionary fossil data with genomic data by taking an evolutionary movie. This has huge implications for understanding a number of events such as the Cambrian explosion of life forms that occurred around 540 million years ago. I wish the article was available but this is kind of like a teaser trailer for those geeks interested in this stuff.
