I've got my Aye-Aye on you.

Aye-Ayes are hands down the strangest animal on the planet. They have this long Nosferatu like middle finger and generally looked like a fur-bearing Yoda that has been drowned, microwaved, and shot out of a cannon, plus they have sex hanging upside down in trees (weird). As my primatatology professor once said there is no way you can design (at least intelligently) something like this. However, from a scientific perspective they are pretty interesting, a recent post by Zooillogix (via Afarensis) reports some interesting new information regarding color vision in this species. You see this is interesting because they are nocturnal, so technically they shouldn't have the genes for color vision because it was thought that the earliest primates were nocturnal so diurnal vision would have evolved later in time.
