Project 365:Day 2 - Preparing to travel

One of the things I'm doing this semester is fieldwork in Central America (Costa Rica and Nicaragua). Because I have never been immunized against Hepatitis A and B, I needed a shot. This picture shows me getting the shot. The nurse pretty much thought I was whacked when I asked if it was OK to take a picture. She was game though and let me take the picture, which is kind of hard taking a picture with your left hand and getting a shot in the arm. Other fun things I get to do are take an oral immunization against typoid fever (consists of consuming a living bacteria on an empty stomach), and cholorquinine for malaria. Ah! the joys of travel.
